The 9th Edition of the International Biotechnology Workshop Kicked off on the 3rd day of June, 2019 with an opening ceremony. The theme of the Workshop is tagged "Genomics: A Veritable Tool for National Development".  The Workshop spans 3-7th, June, 2019 at the Molecular Biology Laboratory of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State.

1. Ph.D. Research Proposal 

A Ph.D. Research proposal titled "Plasmid-Mediated Polymxin Resistance Among Clinical Livestock Enterobacteriaceae in Ogun and Lagos States" was presented by Oyewale John Oluwaseun (Mat No. 17PCQ01666) was presented to the Department.

 

2. Ph.D. Post Field Defense 

A Ph.D. Post Field Defense titled "Bioprospecting of α-Alpha and Pectinesterase from Aspergillus niger and Rhizopus oryzae for Industrial Production of Soursop (Annona muricata Linn) Juice" was presented by Adedeji Oluwabunmi Moradeke (Mat No. 05CQ03261) was presented to the Department. 
 

 

Entire Faculty, Staff and Students of Biological Sciences undergoes a training on the use of Library- March 8, 2019.

Professionals at the Centre for Learning Resources, Covenant University conducted a training for the Faculty, Staff and Students of the department of Biological Sciences on Friday, March 8, 2019.

The venue was at the Centre for Learning Resources Conference Room and the time was 12: 00 noon.
The training was poised towards the contribution of the department in attainment of vision 10:2022, in the agenda for Covenant University to be one of top 10 leading world Universities.
The training was quite impactful and resourceful. Participants were provided vital information as regards accessibility of online libraries, repositories and databases. The training also entailed skillful preparation of manuscripts with precisions on the aspects of citations and associated references, amidst other vital issues.
The training comprised of two sessions. The first session was for Faculty and Staff, while the second session was for the students.
The aspect of similarity index assessment of manuscript and current trends and issues were also deliberated. It was indeed interactive and expository outing. More details.....
